GotoChina Terms and Conditions
By using the GotoChina.co website, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to the following Terms and Conditions.
1. Payment
- Deposit & Final Payment:
A deposit of 10% of the total tour cost is required at booking. The final payment must be made at least 30 days before departure. For bookings made within 30 days of departure, full payment is required immediately. - Payment Methods:
- Secure online payment via PayPal (Visa or MasterCard)
- Visa or MasterCard by email
- WeChat Pay or Alipay online
- Wire transfer
Cash payment or company checks are possible by special request; personal checks are not accepted.
- Currency & Exchange Rate Disclaimer:
Payments made by credit card will be processed in Chinese Yuan (CNY). Currency conversion rates applied by banks or credit card companies may differ from the rates quoted by GotoChina and may include additional fees.
2. Cancellation
- Multiple City Tours (including Yangtze River Cruises):
- 21+ days before departure: 100% refund (excluding certain incurred expenses)
- 15-20 days: 70% refund
- 8-14 days: 50% refund
- 0-7 days or no-show: No refund
- Single City Tours:
- 14+ days before departure: 100% refund
- 7-13 days: 90% refund
- 3-6 days: 50% refund
- 2 days or less: No refund
- Train Tickets:
Refund and penalties vary depending on timing and route (China Mainland or Mainland-Hong Kong). A service fee of USD 6 per ticket applies once issued. - Attractions/Show Tickets:
Non-refundable and non-transferable once confirmed, regardless of weather or other conditions. - Group Tours (10+ people):
Cancellation policies may vary; please consult your travel advisor. - Unused services after trip commencement are non-refundable.
3. Alteration of Itinerary
- Minor itinerary changes can be made free of charge if alternatives are of equal quality.
- Major changes, especially involving train or flight tickets, may incur additional fees and require consultation with your travel advisor.
4. Travel Documentation
- Clients must hold valid passports, visas, and permits before travel.
- GotoChina assists with documentation upon request but is not liable for failure to obtain necessary documents.
- Clients must verify passport information after payment; incorrect information may result in extra fees.
5. Health Requirements
- Clients are responsible for meeting health and vaccination requirements for travel destinations.
- Travelers to Tibet must provide a doctor’s certificate confirming fitness to travel due to high altitude.
6. Luggage Allowance
- Economy Class: 20kg free checked baggage
- Business Class: 30kg
- First Class: 40kg
- All luggage must have locks per Chinese aviation regulations; failure may result in luggage refusal at airports.
- Excess baggage fees are the client’s responsibility.
7. Insurance
- GotoChina tour packages include complimentary Tourist Accident/Casualty Insurance up to $30,000 per adult.
- Full travel insurance is strongly recommended.
- Insurance does not cover bookings of tickets or hotels only.
8. Complaints and Claims
- Notify your travel advisor or GotoChina Customer Care immediately if unsatisfied with any service.
- Claims for compensation must be made in writing within 15 days after the tour ends, with supporting receipts.
- Claims made after 15 days will not be considered.
9. Communications
- Contact GotoChina via website form, email, fax, or phone.
- If no response is received within 48 hours of an inquiry, please email admin@gotochina.co to ensure your request is handled.
10. Liability & Responsibility
- GotoChina acts as an agent for third-party providers and is not liable for errors or omissions by these suppliers.
- Not responsible for losses or damages caused by events beyond its control, such as weather, strikes, government actions, epidemics, terrorism, etc.
- Clients are responsible for compliance with customs and security regulations.
- GotoChina is not liable for loss or theft of personal property due to client negligence.
- GotoChina reserves the right to substitute hotels, flights, trains, or cancel tours before departure; in such cases, a full refund will be issued.
- Activities included in tours carry inherent risks; clients participate at their own risk after due advice and assistance.
11. Modification or Discontinuance of Service
- GotoChina reserves the right to modify or terminate services for clients who behave unlawfully, offensively, or disrespectfully towards staff or agents.
- Offensive behavior includes obscene, discriminatory, or harassing conduct.
- Services may be terminated immediately without refund or notice in such cases.
